The Newman‑Crows Landing Unified School District Board approved new instructional materials for grades 7 and 8 math on June 15, choosing Amplified Desmos following evaluation of two curriculum options.
Miss Vargas, who presented the materials, said the district selected Amplified Desmos for grades K–8 and will use a separate high‑school program for grades 9–12. She noted the district has professional development scheduled across next year for K–12 staff.
The board opened a public hearing on the adoption; no members of the public spoke. A trustee moved and seconded the motion to adopt; the board approved the item by roll call.
Ending: With the adoption in place, the district will proceed with scheduled professional development and implement the new curriculum for the 2026–27 school year.
