The Planning Board approved a revised parking plan for 5585 Canal Rd. on June 17 that converts a portion of a truck-loading area into employee parking and includes a fenced enclosure, a representative said.
Paul Pawuk, speaking for Amazon, said the change will maximize employee parking while leaving sufficient room for semi trailers to back in as needed; he did not provide an exact figure for the anticipated number of additional employees. The board voted to approve a 256-space parking variance (Ordinance Section 1270.05(a)(4)) and gave overall approval to the revised parking area on a unanimous roll-call vote.
Mayor March thanked Pawuk for attending. The approval allows Amazon to move forward with implementation of the revised lot layout in coordination with Village staff.
