Committee approves street closures and temporary tents for St. Patrick's Day parade and beer run

The Public Works Committee on March 10 approved an amendment to the City of Kenosha and Lakeshore Business Improvement District's application to place temporary structures and tents on city streets for the St. Patrick's Day beer run and parade starting March 14, 2025.
Chris Coachman, the city's community relations representative, told the committee the revised application simply adds checkboxes for temporary structures at locations that were included on the submitted map but omitted from the written wording. Coachman said the amendment would add tents on 51st Place and 56th Street, including in front of Suites, and asked the committee for approval. "I just now noticed it wasn't in the wording," he said. The committee approved the amendment and permit by voice vote.
The approval authorizes the city to permit the previously mapped street closures along with temporary structures at the stated locations. Committee members did not record additional restrictions on the public record.
