Local library directors brief supervisors; board adopts appreciation resolutions and approves zoning change

Directors from the Packwaukee, Westfield, Endeavor, Montello and Neshkoro public libraries updated the Marquette County Board of Supervisors on local programs, outreach and 2024 circulation figures during the June 17, 2025 meeting. Winnefox Library System Director Clairellyn Sommersmith told the board she would attend the Executive & Finance Committee meeting closer to budget season in August or September with "additional statistics and data."
The board approved the consent agenda (motion by Supervisor David Benson, seconded by Supervisor Mike Raddatz), adopting Resolutions 36-2025 through 38-2025. Resolution 36-2025 expressed appreciation to Geffrey (Geff) Gardner for more than 16 years of service as a jailer/dispatcher with retirement effective June 26, 2025. Resolution 37-2025 expressed appreciation to Corporation Counsel Natalie Bussan for nearly 12 years of service with retirement effective June 30, 2025. Resolution 38-2025 amends the Marquette County Zoning Ordinance to rezone approximately 22.97 acres in the Town of Harris from AG-1 to AG-2 (legal description included in the resolution).
Supervisor John Bennett noted a typographical correction in the May 20 meeting minutes that was amended before approval. Supervisor Dennis Fenner later announced a UW Extension public forum on July 9 for community input on future UW Extension programming. The meeting adjourned at 7:31 p.m.
