At its Dec. 17 meeting the Cedar Creek Board of Trustees completed routine administrative business: trustees approved the treasurer's report, authorized reimbursement for a Grantwatch subscription, approved two building permits and tabled discussion of an engineering appointment pending further research.
The treasurer reported account balances and listed claims, including payments for utilities, consulting and services; Trustee Richardson moved to approve the treasurer's report and Trustee Bruckner seconded, and the board approved by roll call. The minutes record balances for Pinnacle Checking & Savings ($29,477.69) and NE CLASS accounts (General: $134,279.38; Street: $235,392.31; Debt Service: $98,517.67; Keno: $191,295.81) and a community events fund balance of $26,039.81.
Trustees approved a $199-per-year Grantwatch subscription with Trustee Richardson signing up and the village to reimburse him. The board also approved building permits for Dave Jones (2059 Sunset Dr; addition, garage, patio) and Brad Hockabout (10664 Prairie Ridge Dr; partial basement finish). Trustee Prescott moved to approve each permit and the motions passed by roll call.
On appointments, the village received a request from JEO to be appointed Village Street Superintendent and Village Engineer. Trustees discussed whether an appointment needed to be made by Dec. 31 to preserve eligibility for Highway Allocation funds; they decided to research the timing and tabled the appointment until the January meeting, saying a special meeting would be called if the deadline requires immediate action. The attorney also presented a draft Ordinance 2024-6 to modify accessory building size limits and advised the board that the Planning Commission must first provide written approval under section 9.02 of the zoning ordinance before the board can proceed.
Finally, the clerk reported she sent a tall-weeds notice to property owners at 2018 Platteview Dr and, after receiving no response, the board directed the clerk to resend the notice via certified mail requiring a signature.
