Cedar Creek trustees rescind initial motion and award park tree-removal contract to Fuxa Enterprises

Trustees on Dec. 17 approved a contract with Fuxa Enterprises for park tree removal after rescinding an earlier award to Edmonds.

During discussion of park maintenance, Trustee Richardson reported two bids for removing trees. Richardson initially recalled one bid as $4,850 (which he later found on his phone was actually $6,850) and said Fuxa Enterprises had submitted a $5,350 bid. Prescott moved to award the work to Edmonds and the board voted in favor. After Richardson located the Edmonds bid on his phone and corrected the amount, he moved to rescind the award to Edmonds; that motion passed. The board then voted to award the tree-removal contract to Fuxa Enterprises.

The sequence—initial award, rescission and final award—was recorded by roll call votes; Trustees Prescott, Bruckner and Richardson voted aye on each action and Trustees Fuxa and Fotoplos were recorded as absent. The minutes do not specify a start date for the work or the contract amount to be paid to Fuxa Enterprises beyond the bid figure recorded in the discussion.

The board did not discuss funding sources at length during the item; staff will proceed with contract administration and scheduling.
