The superintendent said nearly all eighth-grade students had signed up and staff chaperones include grade-level teachers, an administrator and counseling staff. The trip packet included an itinerary and families received information at a public night.
The superintendent and staff noted some logistical uncertainties: if school snow days occur during the scheduled date range, the district may need substitute coverage or adjust staffing; administrators said the trip would proceed on the planned Monday'Wednesday timeline regardless of school closure days. The board approved the Quebec City trip by voice vote; recorded vote counts were not specified.
The board did not detail substitute-fee arrangements in the meeting packet; staff said those details were being finalized but that families and chaperones had been informed of expectations.
