Ceresco approves conditional-use permit for portable sheds on Highway 77, raises cap to 15

The Village of Ceresco Board of Trustees on July 15 approved Resolution 2025-7 granting a Conditional Use Permit to Kurt Larkin to display pre-built portable sheds and buildings on property east of Ernie's along Highway 77, subject to conditions.
Larkin told the board his sheds are portable, built in York, and sales tax will be determined by delivery address. The original conditions in the resolution limited the display to no more than 10 sheds; Board Member Burklund moved to increase the limit to 15 and Trustee Yana Johnson seconded. The motion carried unanimously. The resolution includes a one-year review, requirements to maintain the lot and access road, submission of a site plan showing building placement, and compliance with applicable village, county, state and federal rules.
Resolution 2025-7 states the property is in the C-3 Highway Commercial District and that the permit is subject to Section 5.11 of the Ceresco Zoning Ordinances and the usual appeal process. The board did not record objections during the vote. The permit is conditional and will be revisited at the one-year review.
