Director Love presented the bids and purchases for city hall FF&E, saying the total package is about $2.4 million and that much of the furniture had already been purchased; he said purchases are from state contracts and that the package is below industry standard percentages for FF&E relative to total project cost. "So we're well below industry standard for this," Director Love said, describing cooperative purchasing discounts and an effort to select durable commercial-grade furniture.
A commissioner said they reviewed the packet and was concerned about the amount and asked for a run-down of invoices by item to better understand costs and installation fees. Staff and the commission discussed long-lead items, cooperative purchasing discounts and the estimated timing of delivery tied to building completion.
The commission approved the purchases by voice vote; a few commissioners requested continued transparency on line-item costs and procurement documentation. Director Love and staff said they would provide additional invoice detail to address commissioner questions and complete orders to ensure timely delivery for occupancy in the spring of next year.
