The Planning Board on June 11 closed the public hearing for a like‑for‑like replacement of the Shore Acres pool and deck at 504 Parkway after hearing technical updates and consultant comments.
Andrew Spatz, representing SAPC, and architect Steven Appelt said the replacement will occupy the same footprint with no net increase in impervious surface. Appelt described a winterization approach that will drain pool water to the proposed Cul‑tec infiltration system over two days (avoiding forecasted storm surges); the applicant’s materials state the project will not increase impervious area and that consultants’ substantive comments are addressable.
Board consultants asked for additional documentation (past soil/infiltration testing and other stormwater records) so the applicant agreed to include historical data in the resubmission. After a brief public comment in support and confirmation that remaining consultant items will be addressed, the board closed the hearing and set a target for a draft resolution for the July 9 meeting (submission deadline June 25).
