At its Sept. 16 meeting the Village of Ceresco approved several public-works and fiscal items intended to maintain utilities and finalize construction disbursements.
Public works: Brian Roland reported on water and sewer needs including potholing bids, a new sewer tap, valve purchases for the wellhouse and winterizing the splash pad. The board approved a manhole rehabilitation quote from Johnson Service Company for $18,500 and authorized sanitary sewer cleaning with a per-visit budget capped at $3,000. The manhole work was approved by roll call (Yeas: Ruble, Johnson, Burklund, Peterson).
Escrow and payments: The engineer recommended releasing escrowed funds for grading ($70,875.00) and drainage facilities ($76,440.00); the board approved the releases. When reviewing claims the accountant recommended withholding payment to Progressive Electric for generator work until the claim is finalized; the board approved claims but held Progressive's two payments totaling $10,341.26 pending resolution.
Audit engagement and purchases: The board approved the Erickson and Brooks audit engagement letter, not to exceed $17,500. The board also approved spending up to $300 to replace the park grill and authorized the Celebrate Ceresco shipping cost of $295.
What happens next: contracts and work orders will proceed under the approved budgets, Progressive Electric payment will be held until claim resolution, and staff will coordinate required inspections and filings.
