Ceresco authorizes up to $28,000 for sewer cameraing and potential cured-in-place repair

The Village of Ceresco voted unanimously June 17 to have Johnson Services camera a damaged section of the Elm Street sanitary sewer main and to proceed with repairs if needed, with an estimated cost of $28,000.
Public Works Director Brian Roland told the board that a section of the sewer main showed a split in the top and damage extending about 20 feet in each direction from the replaced portion. Roland recommended camera inspection to locate sewer taps and determine whether a cured-in-place liner would be feasible; if so, crews would use robotic cutters to open the service taps after lining.
Trustee Burklund moved to authorize Johnson Services to camera and, if needed, repair the sewer line with a cost estimate of $28,000; Ruble seconded and the motion carried with all trustees voting yea. Roland said the remaining main will need to be cameraed to locate taps before robotic cutting can proceed, and that the liner option depends on whether the main is otherwise intact.
The board directed staff to obtain the cameraing and repair work and to return any final contract or change orders to the board for record. The motion included authorization for the immediate work up to the stated estimate.
