Ceresco trustees approve well-pay application, review water-main and sewer repairs

At its May 20 meeting the Ceresco Village Board approved Pay Application #4 for the 2023 Well Improvements project in the amount of $85,060.15 and reviewed ongoing water‑ and sewer‑system work.
Chair Scott Peterson moved approval of Pay Application #4; the motion passed unanimously. Meeting materials noted $101,697.15 remains on the well-improvements contract. Brian Roland updated trustees on the 2024 Water Main Improvements: the new main has been installed but requires pressure testing, water sampling, service hook-ups and fire-hydrant installation; the sewer main repair for some streets remains incomplete.
Roland described repair activity at 224 W Elm: a double cleanout allowed jetting, a flush bag caused water to surface in the yard and the private sewer lateral appears to be in poor condition; Vrba suggested installation of an ejector (El) lift station and running a 2-inch service line to the main as a remedy. Trustees discussed options and asked staff to investigate costs and permitting.
On the well-maintenance program, the Board agreed to the terms of a termination agreement and tabled continued Aqua Gard & Well Maintenance Program action, while directing staff and the Park & Rec Subcommittee to monitor drought conditions and water use as the splash pad project proceeds. Roland reported water levels in the village wells are lower than previously observed.
The Board also approved a series of operational items in the consent/claims portion of the meeting including claims and payroll as presented.
