Cedarville council approves minutes, financial report, CPR training and adopts zero millage resolution

The Cedarville City Council on Sept. 17 approved a slate of routine and administrative items, including earlier meeting minutes, the monthly financial report, a training proposal for a volunteer CPR instructor and a resolution setting millage rates at zero for 2024.
Alderman Odom moved to approve the August regular monthly meeting minutes; Alderman Johnson seconded and the motion passed 4-0. Treasurer Sandy Cook presented August end-of-month balances and reviewed the September financial report; Alderman Odom moved to approve the financial report, Alderman Breshears seconded, and the motion passed 4-0.
Fire Chief Cody Cooper proposed sending a volunteer to become a certified CPR instructor. The cost cited was $200 for registration and approximately $75 to $100 for books; Alderman Breshears moved to accept the proposal, Alderman Odom seconded, and the motion passed 4-0. The training will certify the volunteer to teach CPR classes locally.
Mayor Deborah Pinkerton presented Resolution No. 2024-09-17-01, which the council adopted by a 4-0 vote; the resolution submits millage rates of zero for 2024. The meeting also included routine department reports (grounds, police and fire), announcements about community cleanup dates and a Sept. 21 Fire Auxiliary fundraiser.
With no further business, the council adjourned following a unanimous motion by Alderman Breshears and a second from Alderman Johnson.
