VOCA-funded victim-services staff updated the Board of Uintah County Commissioners on June 16 about program activity during the grant period. Presenters said the program served more than 381 new victims and provided over 4,000 distinct services, including crisis intervention, accompaniment to meetings with prosecutors and law enforcement, court support, referrals, transportation assistance, and safety items such as doorbell cameras and gun safes.
Presenters (identified in the meeting as Tricia and Andre from VOCA services) said the most frequently reported crime among clients has been domestic violence. They said grant and county funding enabled the expanded service set, and noted planned trauma-informed, victim-focused training in July for program staff to support continuity with incoming prosecutors. Commission members and staff thanked the VOCA team for their work and emphasized the role staff play in court accompaniment and immediate safety supports.
The presentation was informational; no formal action was recorded on the VOCA update.
