Bolton selectmen approved Heritage Farm master plan; commission eyes LOTCIP for phase one

The Bolton Heritage Farm Commission on Oct. 3 said the town Board of Selectmen approved the commission’s Master Site Plan, and members said they expect most of phase one to be covered by a LOTCIP grant.
Chairman Arlene Fiano reported that the Master Plan was passed at the Sept. 6 Board of Selectmen meeting and told the commission “most of phase one should be covered under the LOTCIP grant.” The commission plans to enlarge site-plan illustrations for public display at its Celebrating Your Farm event.
Commission members discussed funding strategy and the expectation that additional grants and philanthropy will be needed to complete later phases. Vice Chairman Beth Harney reported current fund balances for the Heritage Farm Fund and the designated “Rosie” fund during the meeting; corrected minutes circulated later adjusted those balances (see related coverage).
Members also discussed site maintenance tasks tied to implementation: Building and grounds supervisor John Butrymovich reported routine mowing and interpretive signage installation, and members noted recent driveway patching by the Highway Department as an interim measure.
Next steps for the Master Plan include pursuing LOTCIP funding for early work, seeking other grant opportunities, and presenting enlarged plan illustrations to the public at the commission’s community event. The commission did not set a definitive construction schedule; implementation remains contingent on securing funding and any required permitting.
