Emergency management agent Seth told the committee the mutual-aid wording has changed and that the updated agreement is essentially an administrative wording update to be filed with the county. "The IEMA agreement is in the board packet," Seth said, describing the update as a necessary clarification of previously approved language.
Seth also reported a weather event: officials recorded an unrated tornado that touched down in eastern Lee County last Thursday, tracking near Herman Road and Interstate 39 before moving into DeKalb County. "It is officially on record as another tornado for Lee County," Seth said.
A motion to adopt the resolution was moved by Kevin Lai and seconded by Keen Hudson. The committee carried the motion by voice vote; the transcript records the motion as carried but does not provide a roll-call tally.
The approval updates previously adopted language and ensures the county has the revised mutual-aid wording on file. No additional implementation steps or effective dates were specified during the meeting.
