Berwick Select Board swears in two members and elects new chair and vice chair

The Berwick Select Board on June 16 swore in incumbent Lisa Chase and newly elected member Lisa Houston, then elected Michael Ladd as chair and Cyrus Morgan as vice chair for the coming year.

Chase took the oath of office and signed required documentation, and Houston affirmed she would “faithfully discharge … the duties incumbent on me as a select board member.” Following the swearing-in, board members nominated and approved Ladd and Morgan in motions that were seconded and carried without a roll-call tally recorded in the transcript.

The leadership votes came early in the meeting as the board completed routine organizational business. No formal challenges or alternative nominees were recorded during the discussion.

The board proceeded to other standard business, including approval of prior meeting minutes and committee appointments. The meeting adjourned after completing a calendar of routine items.
