Town Administrator Josh Kelley told the Bolton Heritage Farm Commission on May 4 that the National Park Service will send a grant check by June 13 to support interpretive signage tied to the Heritage Farm weekend and related materials. Kelley said he has a scheduled call with the agency on May 12 to finalize details and that the grant includes funding for wayfinding signs within a 10-mile radius of the farm.
The funding, Kelley said, is intended to support both on-site interpretive panels and directional signage aimed at drawing visitors from nearby roads and towns. He asked Chairman Arlene Fiano and commission members to compile a list of candidate locations where wayfinding signs could be placed so the town can review and approve placements with grounds staff.
Building and grounds supervisor John Butrymovich briefed the commission on current site maintenance, saying crews have begun mowing and that the farm parking lot has been regraded in anticipation of upcoming events. The commission discussed using the signage to promote Heritage Farm weekend and local history programming; no formal vote was recorded on specific sign locations at the meeting.
The commission did not set a final schedule for installation. Kelley’s May 12 call with the National Park Service is expected to clarify next steps and timelines.
