Trenton council roundup: permit, property transfer, budget amendment and tax-collection resolution approved

The Trenton City Council handled a set of routine and substantive items at its May 13 meeting.
Minutes and expenditures: Alderman Wade moved and Alderwoman Holt seconded approval of the April 22, 2025 minutes; the motion carried by voice vote. City Recorder Leigh Reynolds reported expenditures; Alderman Graves moved approval of expenditures listing the general fund at $186,288.31 and sanitation at $63,224.24; the motion carried by voice vote.
Property transfer: The council approved a motion by Alderman Graves, seconded by Alderman Wade, to give the parcel on North Church Street (Parcel ID 094 M C 016.00) to Habitat for Humanity for a future building project; the motion carried by voice vote.
Resolution on tax collection: Alderwoman Holt moved and Alderman Harper seconded Resolution 2025-R-5, permitting the Gibson County Trustee's Office to begin collecting taxes for the City of Trenton; the resolution passed by voice vote.
Adjournment and announcements: Mayor Tony Burriss provided calendar announcements (Music on the Square May 17; Memorial Day closure May 26; citywide yard sale June 13–14). Alderman Graves moved to adjourn; Alderwoman Holt seconded and the meeting adjourned at 6:50 p.m.
