Warren County commissioners discuss buying Sheriff's Office entrance sign omitted during courthouse rehab

Commissioner Kenneth L. Klakamp called for action after Chief Clerk Pamela Matve said the Sheriff's Office entrance sign was omitted during the first phase of the courthouse rehabilitation and was not purchased at that time.
"The Sheriff's Office Entrance sign was omitted," Matve said, noting signage around the building had been done earlier but the one for the Sheriff's Office was left out. Wally, a county staff member, said he could save money by installing the sign himself.
Klakamp said he has received comments from people who see the jail but do not know where the Sheriff's Office is located and "we need to move forward with this purchase," adding the sign would help residents and visitors find the office.
No formal motion or vote on purchasing the sign was recorded in the work session; Matve indicated the matter will be advanced for formal consideration on the county's regular agenda or otherwise processed through the appropriate purchasing steps.
