Waukesha board approves temporary easement for Wisconsin DOT Highway 59 project

An agency official described the easement as 0.271 acres to be used for sloping, grading and as a staging area while the pedestrian underpass is closed. “The proposed temporary limited easement, a TLE, as it's referred to, is, 0.271 acres,” the official said, and added that DOT will replace ground-level impacts at DOT expense.
The official also said the city received compensation of $9,700 for the temporary use, to be paid over three years; the amount was derived from an independent sales study. The project schedule presented in the meeting sets construction to begin May 1, 2025, with substantial completion by Dec. 31, 2027, and all work finished no later than June 30, 2028.
Board members moved and seconded the recommendation and the chair declared the motion approved unanimously.
