The City of Waukesha board unanimously approved a recommendation to renew a 2025 sponsorship agreement with Dick's Sporting Goods that will supply equipment and gift certificates for the city’s youth sports leagues.
WPRF staff member (the meeting presenter) said the contract will cover youth baseball, softball, T‑ball and soccer for the 2025 season and that the agreement largely mirrors last year’s arrangement. “This contract with Dick's Sporting Goods will provide youth sports program with equipment and gift certificates for the 2025 season,” the staff member said, noting the city attorney reviewed and approved the contract.
Board members were told the sponsor has a positive track record with WPRF and that the renewal is at the same funding level as in the prior year. The staff recommendation included coordinating in-store shop days and public discounts that the department publicizes through the city newsletter and email blasts to teams.
A motion to approve the sponsorship was made and seconded during the meeting; the chair declared the motion approved unanimously.
The item was presented as a recommendation to the common council and will proceed through the council process as required by the board’s procedures. The meeting record does not specify a dollar figure for the in-kind equipment or gift-certificate value.
