During staff reports at the Oct. 6 meeting the clerk presented a written resignation from Trustee Richard Doffin Jr., who was recorded as absent for the session. The board directed staff to post a Notice of Vacancy for the open trustee seat.
Clerk Diane Doffin provided routine updates including employee progress reports, community event scheduling (possible Santa Claus festivities on Dec. 11, a tentative Spring Branch 4H Trunk-or-Treat on Oct. 25), and a scheduled flu-shot clinic by Providence Community Pharmacy on Oct. 30 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Staff also reported that the September monthly coliform test for village water was satisfactory, a water leak on Main Street had been fixed, and bids are being sought for a snow-plow blade to mount on a pickup.
The board took no formal action on the resignation beyond agreeing to post the vacancy notice; other recorded votes during the meeting were routine approvals of minutes, local contracts and policy adoption. The next regular meeting is scheduled for Nov. 3, 2025 at 6:00 p.m.
