The Cerro Gordo County Board of Supervisors on June 15 approved several routine administrative items and then voted to enter closed session to discuss a potential real-estate transaction.
Supervisor Chris Watts moved, with Vice Chairman Carl Ginapp seconding, to approve claims; that motion passed unanimously. The board also approved the Clerk's Monthly Report of Fees and the Sheriff's Monthly Report of Fees on a unanimous vote.
The board approved tax abatements for mobile home VIN 62073 in the amount of $296 and VIN H08794 in the amount of $87. It also approved a fireworks permit for Jay Lindsay and a temporary closure of portions of B35, Dogwood and Southshore Drive on August 29, 2026 from approximately 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for the 10th Annual TRI Clear Lake Triathlon; all motions passed unanimously.
County Engineer Brandon Billings provided an update (the transcript notes the update but does not include the content). At 10:16 a.m. the board voted to go into closed session under Iowa Code Section 21.5(1)(j) to discuss the purchase or sale of particular real estate where premature disclosure could affect price; a roll call vote recorded Ginapp—Aye; Watts—Aye; Callanan—Aye. The board came out of closed session at 10:26 a.m. and then adjourned.
