The Oswego County Division of Mental Hygiene Community Services Board used its March 20 meeting to share several partner and community updates.
A Provider Expo is scheduled for May 6, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; meeting materials noted that 129 people have registered and additional openings remain. Attendees were reminded to register.
Office For the Aging (OFA) announced a security guard will be posted at the Health Department entrance on March 23 and said it will partner with Friends of Recovery for a game night on March 27 from 4:00–6:00 p.m. OFA also plans to begin offering congregate meals in May at the Health Department, 70 Bunner Street, Oswego.
The Health Department is hosting National Public Health Week April 6–12; the meeting materials directed the public to the department website for daily activities.
Samantha Cleveland, Senior Analyst with the New York State Unified Court System, told the board that a mental health court is in planning stages and will be modeled after Drug Treatment Court; the judge hopes it will be functioning within six months. The court’s Intervention Court sessions (held Thursdays) are open to the public for observation, and the court partners with Farnham’s certified peer support program.
Travis Bulluck of ConnextCare reported the hiring of two school counselors: Kristin Rielly for the Oswego School District (K–12) stationed at the SBHC at Frederick Leighton Elementary, and Kathryn Giles for Lura Sharp Elementary in the Pulaski district.
Elizabeth "Liz" Bonner of OCO said Rice Creek is opening a handicapped-accessible trail and that the Oswego County Healthy Miles Coalition and the Rural Health Network of Oswego County will host a walking event there on Saturday, June 6, beginning at 10 a.m. Ellen Lazarek of OCO reported that the OCO SPOT Youth Clubhouse is fully staffed.
Procedural business at the start and end of the meeting included unanimous approval of the agenda and the December 19, 2025 minutes, and a motion to adjourn by Tory DeCaire that carried unanimously.
