City briefs council on storm response: crews, chippers and temporary disposal sites deployed

Staff reported 63 larger tree/limb incidents that required response by fire and public-works crews. The city deployed two chippers and additional crews to reduce large limbs; Republic provided temporary dumpsters for spoiled food and small debris at public works locations; staff planned to publish maps showing scheduled collection areas. While the response was ongoing, staff emphasized the need to address generator capacity and reliability at well and wastewater facilities and said the city has started procurement for new well-site generators.
Council members thanked department heads and crews for the response. Staff said they would bring a short after-action report and follow-up requests to council, including proposed generator procurement contracts, work-session scheduling for final policy decisions, and ongoing cleanup timelines.
