CCRPC accepts clean FY22 audit, retains low‑risk auditee status

The Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission voted unanimously Nov. 16 to accept the FY22 independent audit after a presentation by Fred Duplessis of Sullivan, Powers & Co.
Fred Duplessis, the firm’s CPA, told the board the draft audit followed Government Auditing Standards and reflected recent accounting changes under Governmental Accounting Standards Board No. 87 regarding lease reporting. "Overall, the audit was very good. There were no findings of any control weaknesses," Duplessis said, noting the commission continued to qualify as a Low‑Risk Auditee.
Duplessis explained components of the single‑audit review, which focuses on major federal programs such as Highway Planning and Construction and tracks federal and state compliance reporting. The audit packet includes schedules the State uses to verify indirect rate calculations; the approved FY22 indirect rate was 79.83 percent.
Board members praised staff work preparing for the audit. Jeff Carr thanked Fred and the audit team, and Garret Mott also thanked CCRPC staff for their work. Jeff Carr moved to accept the audit report, Garret Mott seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
The final audit report will be forwarded to the federal/state clearinghouse for access by funding agencies. No formal corrective actions were required.
