Contract awards and resolutions (all adopted by roll call): - Asbury, Carter & Chaney Traffic Signal Improvement Project awarded to Portzen Construction for $348,287.98 (17% above estimate); adopted 7–0. - North Schmitt Island Collection System Project Contract #2 awarded to Tschiggfrie Excavation Company for $225,133.80 (45% above estimate); adopted 7–0. - Southwest Arterial (US 52) ITS Corridor Project awarded to Eastern Iowa Directional Drillers LLC for $1,593,173.08 (11% below estimate); adopted 7–0. - Greyhound Park Road Water Main Loop Project awarded to Eastern Iowa Excavating & Concrete LLC for $204,993.75 (29.5% below estimate); adopted 7–0. - Municipal Services Center Roof & HVAC Replacement: staff presented an estimate of probable cost of $3,692,120 and the council adopted the resolution to receive and file (7–0).
Other procedural items: the council set six public hearings for July 6 and approved continuing the fire cost recovery ordinance item to a July meeting to allow contract negotiations to conclude.
