Jennifer Garms, the Clayton County auditor, is holding the physical check; commission members agreed by consensus to have the commission deposit the funds in the Freedom Bank account rather than routing them through the county account.
Chairperson Lee Embretson and his wife, Paula Embretson, will attend the awards ceremony as the commission's representatives. The commission did not set specific spending allocations for the $2,000 at this meeting.
