Hyannis Area Schools approves $260,811.24 in disbursements, updates bank signers and revises curriculum timeline

At its April 14 meeting, the Hyannis Area Schools Board of Education approved the consent agenda that included total disbursements of $260,811.24 for the general fund, $17,570.10 for the activity fund, $10,217.08 for the lunch fund and $2,853.01 for the special building fund.

Motion to approve the consent agenda was made by Kevin Anderson and seconded by Chris Cover and was recorded as passed. The itemized disbursements in the minutes list payroll and benefits (BMO classified and non‑classified wages $103,754.14; retirement transfer $26,290.34; payroll taxes $27,844.00) and vendor payments including ESU services, Prema electricity ($11,963.70) and multiple supplies and service providers recorded in the minutes.

The board also approved updates to bank account signers: a motion by Clint Taylor, seconded by Chris Cover, removed Chris Gentry as a signer on BMO and Sandhills State Bank accounts and added Kevin Anderson; a subsequent motion, moved by Clint Taylor and seconded by Kevin Anderson, added Lauren Kostman as a contact on all BMO accounts. Both motions were recorded as passed.

Additionally, the board voted to revise the timeline for Policy 6004 (Curriculum Development); Policy 3045 (Use of Sniffer Dogs) was reviewed during the meeting, and the board discussed 7–12 counseling curriculum and proposed marquee renderings. The minutes do not specify funding sources for any capital or operational items beyond the disbursement totals.
