Hyannis Area Schools board re‑elects officers and sets committee rosters

At its Jan. 13 meeting the Hyannis Area Schools Board of Education confirmed Justin Vinton as president and filled treasurer, vice president and secretary posts; the board also designated committee assignments and named Lauren Kostman secretary to the board.
The Hyannis Area Schools Board of Education reformed its leadership and standing committees at a regular meeting on Jan. 13, 2025.
Kevin Anderson nominated Justin Vinton for board president; the nomination passed unanimously, and Travis Hawk relinquished the chairing duties to President Justin Vinton. President Justin Vinton then nominated Kevin Anderson as treasurer, Clint Taylor as vice president and Chris Cover as secretary; each nomination was approved by unanimous voice vote.
On a motion by Clint Taylor, seconded by Mark Vinton, the board designated Lauren Kostman as Secretary to the Board of Education. President Vinton also announced committee appointments: Americanism (Mark Vinton, Clint Taylor, Chris Cover); Transportation, Building and Grounds (Bob Meester, Justin Vinton, Kevin Anderson); Budget and Finance (all members rotate); and Personnel and Negotiations (Chris Cover, Clint Taylor, Kevin Anderson).
The board unanimously approved a standing schedule that designates the July board meeting each year to review and approve current board policies and regulations.
The new officer slate and committee assignments take effect immediately. The board set its next regular meeting for Feb. 10, 2025 at 5:00 PM.
