At its Sept. 9, 2024 regular meeting the Hyannis Area Schools Board of Education approved the agenda, the consent agenda and associated bills and claims, and accepted an administrative hiring recommendation for Melody Mershon.
Rod Boots moved and Chris Gentry seconded the motion to approve the agenda as presented; the board voted Aye: Justin Vinton, Rod Boots, Kevin Anderson, Chris Cover, Clint Taylor and Chris Gentry. Later Boots moved and Gentry seconded approval of the consent agenda and bills and claims, which the minutes itemize as: general fund $346,493.58; activity fund $13,337.43; lunch fund $13,649.40; special building fund $2,437.39. The minutes record these motions as passing unanimously.
The board also approved the Board Workshop Minutes and the Board Hearing Minutes (motion by Boots, second by Gentry) and accepted an administrative hiring recommendation for Melody Mershon on a motion by Clint Taylor, seconded by Chris Cover; that motion passed unanimously.
President Justin Vinton opened the meeting, noted that a copy of the Open Meetings Act was posted on the library wall and led the flag salute. The meeting adjourned at 7:16 p.m.; the board set its next regular meeting for Monday, Oct. 14, 2024, at 7:00 p.m. Minutes were signed by Secretary Chris Cover.
