"I'd like to request that the planning commission review the current B1 business zoning regulation regarding bulk storage tanks and for them to provide a recommendation to our board as to whether the existing ... prohibition is still current or relevant or appropriate," Tedlock said, and moved that the commission consider whether conditional use permits should be allowed on B1 parcels. The motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
The board did not specify a timeline for the planning commission's recommendation during the June 15 meeting. The referral directs the planning commission to analyze the current B1 standards and return a recommendation to the board; any change to allow conditional use permits would require the commission's report and subsequent board action.
