Canal Winchester council authorizes notes for Basil Western Road infrastructure improvements

Canal Winchester City Council on March 2 voted unanimously to adopt Ordinance 26-006, authorizing the issuance of one or more series of notes in anticipation of bonds to finance Basil Western Road infrastructure improvements and related public infrastructure work.
Council President Laurie Amick moved, and Will Bennett seconded, motions first to suspend the rules and then to adopt ORD-26-006. Council recorded a Yes vote from Amick, Bennett, Detwiler, McLaughlin, Moore and Payne (6–0).
The ordinance authorizes the city to issue notes in anticipation of bonds for the Basil Western Road project and to enter into related agreements provided for in the intergovernmental agreement among the City of Canal Winchester, Fairfield County, the Fairfield County Transportation Improvement District, and the Fairfield County Port Authority. Details including the amount of notes, financing schedule and final intergovernmental agreement terms were not specified in the meeting record and will be finalized through the normal financing and agreement-execution processes.
The ordinance was sponsored by Council President Amick and adopted after the council voted to waive additional readings.
