The Canal Winchester Landmarks Commission voted Feb. 23 to approve Certificate of Appropriateness #CA-26-006 to add half-round gutters to the front porch at 121 East Waterloo Street, with a condition that the new gutters be white.
Applicant Mark Boving described a seamless gutter system with hidden clips and wedges to anchor to the home’s dimensional trim; the intent is to tie the new gutters into the existing downspouts. Commissioners raised concerns about adequate fascia for attachment and the need to install the gutters as high as possible to optimize drainage. Boving said the contractor had not specified material coil but that he preferred white gutters.
Pete Lynch moved to approve the application with the condition that the gutters be white; Roger White seconded the motion, which carried 5-0.
