Certino to consider Parkland ballot measure after polling; staff to return July 7

City staff told the Certino City Council on June 16 that polling on a possible November 2026 Parkland ballot measure is underway and scheduled to conclude at the end of the week. Staff said it will return to council on July 7 with the survey results and the council will then decide whether to pursue the Parkland measure and whether to place a utility-user tax (UUT) measure on the ballot.
City Manager Tina briefed the council that polling is still in progress and that the July 7 meeting will include staff recommendations based on those results. She said, “based off of those results, we'll return back to council on July 7th, at which point council will provide direction to staff whether to pursue not just the Parkland ballot measure but also the UUT ballot measure.”
Council did not take a formal vote on placing a measure on the ballot at this meeting; the June 16 study session focused on zoning cleanups and follow-up mapping. Staff reported there were no public commenters on the item during this meeting. The council will review the polling and make any formal decisions at a future meeting.
