A staff member read the formal notice that the proposed budget is on file and available for public inspection on the city's website. The notice also advised that persons attending the hearing could provide written and oral comments and that the hearing was available to view on Urbana Public Television (UPTV).
During roll call the clerk confirmed attendance from Council members Woo, Evans, Hursey, Jones, Wilken and Quisenberry and Mayor Williams, establishing a quorum. A meeting official reminded attendees that the session was specifically the public hearing on the budget and that, after the hearing adjourned, the regularly scheduled Committee of the Whole meeting with action items would begin.
No members of the public came forward to speak, and the clerk reported that no emails had been received for the hearing. With no public input, the presiding official closed the hearing and adjourned that portion of the meeting.
Copies of the proposed budget and related materials are posted on the City of Urbana’s website at www.urbana.il.gov under the finance/annual budget information page. The Committee of the Whole proceeded to its regularly scheduled business after the hearing concluded.
