IEDC hears liaison and business-retention updates; BR&E visit scheduled for May 14

Rob Stark provided updates on Wright County Economic Development Partnership events and opportunities relevant to Monticello employers. Deb Meyer, the Chamber of Commerce liaison, briefed the group on Chamber activities and upcoming community events that could intersect with IEDC outreach.
Economic Development staff presented a sales-tax collections update for February 2026, building permit summaries for the first half of 2026 and a projects/prospect list. Tyler Bevier summarized business retention and expansion (BR&E) field visits and asked for volunteer signups; volunteers for the May 14, 2:00 p.m. visit to Cocoa Maas (242 West Broadway) included Mike Huey, Sonja McElroy and Sarah Kortmansky. Bevier also reported on a prior visit to Nordic Taphouse.
City Administrator Rachel Leonard provided a brief update on City Council agenda items and active community projects. The meeting adjourned at 7:59 a.m.
