McCrory accepts bid to wire dog pound, OKs donation recognition policy

Construction by Smokey/Scott May Electrical submitted the lone bid for wiring the pound, installing a meter loop and breaker boxes, eight receptacles, four LED shop lights, two mini-split heating/air units and four ceiling fans; labor was listed at $12,700. Council member Austin moved to accept the bid, Council member Taylor seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Mayor Jackson said residents have offered memorial or honorarium donations for the pound. The council voted to accept donations and directed that any donation of $1,000 or more be acknowledged with a plaque displayed at the facility.
