Trustees of the Pittsburg County Economic Development Authority discussed operations and alcohol‑sales arrangements for the county expo facility during the June 8 meeting and reported that Bid No. 1, a six‑month alcohol‑sales contract, received no bids.
Mike Haynes reported on a site visit to an expo facility in El Reno accompanied by Lauren Ragan. Ragan told the trustees the facility does not rent its kitchen to outside users; the kitchen is used by the concession vendor. Ragan also said a promoter charged admission for a recent Gospel-singing event even though the promoter had been given the venue free of charge. Chairman Ross Selman reported speaking with a person named Angel who told him she was not making a profit on alcohol sales.
Trustee Charlie Rogers asked about plans for a Gospel singing event and about setup for a public hearing; Ragan explained the public‑hearing setup. Ragan also said the cost to move electrical service to the amphitheater stage would be expensive and that a person named Wilson may move the October Fest from the expo. The board discussed options for alcohol sales after receiving no bids but did not adopt a replacement contract or record a follow‑up deadline in the minutes.
No direct statements from the concession vendor, the promoter or the individual called Angel are recorded in the minutes; the claims about profitability and admission charges are reported as trustee statements or Ragan’s account.
