Council authorizes purchase of DOT parcel NW of Riveridge for $12,200

Neighbor Klay Kler, whose property adjoins the parcel, told the council the parcel sits close to his home and includes an excluded area that conveys water access to his well; he asked about long‑term maintenance and whether the city would work with him on access issues. City Manager Alan Stagger said staff would coordinate with Mr. Kler and that fair‑market compensation would apply if the city later required his land for a right‑of‑way.
The acquisition passed by voice vote and staff will move forward with closing and outreach to adjacent property owners.
