Manchesters Board of Aldermen on April 20 approved three separate resolutions authorizing contracts for pedestrian improvements along Manchester Road and for city striping work.
Alderwoman Ottenad read Resolution No. 26-1070 authorizing an agreement with Gershenson Construction Co., Inc. for up to $2,821,900.54 to remove and replace pedestrian facilities along Manchester Road between Baxter Road and Highway 141. Alderwoman Ottenads reading was followed by a board discussion about bridge design near the Dierbergs site; Director Errol Tate told the board the bridge is expected to be a prefabricated structure and that he would return with more detailed design options.
Alderman Baumann read Resolution No. 26-1069 authorizing Horner & Shifrin, Inc. to provide construction administration services for the Manchester pedestrian project in an amount not to exceed $272,155.44; Baumann noted traffic-count work by MoDOT was performed during the day and suggested the city inquire about nighttime traffic differentials.
Alderman Toben read and moved approval of Resolution No. 26-1068 authorizing the City Administrator to enter into an agreement with Americas Parking Remarking, Inc. (APR) for street paint striping services in 2026 in an amount not to exceed $29,994.75, with authority for up to four one-year extensions at an annual increase of up to 3%.
Each resolution was approved by the board without recorded objections. The combined total of the three contracts in the minutes is approximately $3,124,050.73. The minutes do not list specific start dates, phasing details or funding sources for the construction contract; board members asked for additional design information on the bridge, which will be returned to the board for further consideration.
