Board approves wastewater blower contract and airport ground lease

The Siloam Springs Board on Aug. 19 approved two business items: a procurement contract for a centrifugal blower for the wastewater treatment plant and a 25-year ground lease for an 8,100-square-foot hangar at the municipal airport.
Public Works representative Josh Napier described the blower as a budgeted item that feeds oxygen to the wastewater process. He said the low bidder was disqualified for failing to follow an Arkansas procurement code citation, leaving ISI as the recommended vendor. The contract award was presented to the board and approved; later in the meeting staff explained a bond requirement increased the final contract price and the board reconfirmed approval of the contract at the corrected amount.
James Harris, community services manager, presented a ground lease with Bravo Mike LLC for an existing hangar. The lease will remain at the same terms—$0.15 per square foot—for 25 years with a 10-year renewal option; the board approved the lease by roll call.
