Carla Miller told the caucus the council must set public hearing dates for several planning items. The council set conditional-use hearings for Randy Shaffer (539 South Cascade) and for Elite Auto Sales and Service (Samson Street) on Thursday, July 20; one item was scheduled to begin at 4:45 p.m. and others at 5:00 p.m.
Miller also reviewed items to appear on Thursday's agenda including Contract 2026-11 (handicap curb ramp phase two) and a demolition project (Contract 05 2026) that the transcript records as awarded to Carbon Enterprises Incorporated for $38,000. The caucus did not take final action on the contracts; the demolition contract was referred to the administration for recommendation.
Mayor Lessig and staff also noted several routine agenda items for Thursday: a resolution to permit the Lady Rebels softball team use of Skeneski Field, attachments for a required Section 504 officer nomination and a fair-housing resolution, and additional ordinance items including an alley vacation and amendments to Article 169 (leaf collection) and Article 171 (private pension).
