Mayor Gallagher stated in the proclamation: “I Robert Gallagher, the mayor of the city of Bettendorf, Iowa, do hereby proclaim the 18th day of June, 2026, as Flowers on the River Day in the Bettendorf community.”
Representatives described the event format, which includes placing flowers in the river while reading names of those lost to domestic violence, and encouraged attendance at Jetty Park at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The council acknowledged the organizations and individuals involved and offered appreciation for the community work.
