Selectboard member Amy Gutow asked how fees had been handled previously and whether the town had been in contact with the vendor; Finance Officer Karen Motycka said some applicants pay at filing and confirmed the town has spoken with This 'Lil Piggy. Motycka explained that the existing Mobile Vending Unit ordinance must be amended at a town meeting to give the Selectboard authority to set future fees.
Roberta Boczkiewicz moved to approve the application with the condition that the payment be held until the ordinance and fee schedule are revised, and that the vendor be billed retroactively after the May town meeting. The motion passed 3‑0.
The board’s action leaves two steps: Selectboard and staff will pursue a formal amendment to the MVU ordinance for voter consideration at the May town meeting, and the new fee schedule will be set afterward. The motion instructs staff to notify the vendor that payment will be collected retroactively once the fee is legally authorized.
The Selectboard’s vote was procedural and did not set the new fee amount; the town clerk and finance office will follow up once the ordinance revision is finalized.
