Council appoints Sid Harding to janitorial partnership, approves two part‑time janitorial hires

Chair brought forward a proposal to add Sid Harding to the administrative building janitorial partnership to assist Josie Hardy; a councilor moved and another seconded the motion and the council approved it by voice vote. “I have motion by (mover) second by (seconder) to go ahead and…seat Sid in place of Laurel Carter to help Josie Hardy with the janitorial partnership,” Chair said; the motion carried with an “Aye.”
Staff also reported they split a previously dual-position janitorial job into two part-time roles to ensure coverage for school recreation and parks. Staff recommended hiring Chelsea Hardy for the part-time recreation/school janitorial position (200 hours) and Kylie Carter for the part-time parks janitorial position (320 hours). A motion to approve the hires was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
Staff described operational details for the two positions: the school janitorial role will provide 200 hours allocated to school/recreation needs and the parks role will provide 320 hours covering restrooms, main‑street garbage and pavilion cleanup; the city also contributes annually to a sweeper position shared with the school district. Councilors expressed general support and the motions carried without recorded roll-call votes.
