Brimfield trustees authorize zoning outreach to large-parcel owners and add credit-card fees

At its Jan. 20 meeting, the Brimfield Township Board of Trustees approved outreach to large-parcel property owners and voted to pass credit-card processing fees through to customers.

Trustee Sue Fields moved to send a questionnaire created by the Zoning Commission to property owners of parcels of 20 acres or larger within the R-3 and R-4 zoning districts; Trustee Kevin Scott seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The motion records the board’s direction to begin targeted outreach to owners of large parcels in those zoning districts.

Trustee Sue Fields also moved to add credit-card fees to all credit card transactions in Brimfield Township, with the fees set by the township’s payment provider; Trustee Nicholas Coia seconded and the motion passed on a unanimous vote. The minutes state the fees will be set by the provider; the record does not specify the percentage or flat fee amount.

Separately, the trustees amended the agenda to include an annual scrap drive under 'Administration 2a2.' and approved routine administrative items including purchase orders and warrants. Public comment included a question by Chick Sprague about Monday trustee meetings and a resident concern that a spotlight at 4459 Edson Road resembles vehicle lighting and may cause motorist confusion.

The board returned to other agenda items and adjourned at 8:09 p.m.
