Fulshear unveils online capital projects dashboard; council approves $1M budget reallocation

In related financial action, council approved Ordinance 2026‑1542, a budget amendment that reallocates approximately $1,000,000 of identified savings from prior projects into several immediate priorities: design and land acquisition for alternative water sources and water reclamation connections (to support decommissioning of the downtown treatment plant), Harris Street landscape and irrigation improvements, emergency utility repairs and the purchase of two police vehicles funded from federal seizure funds.
Staff said the reallocation reduces the need for a near‑term utility bond by accelerating projects with available funds; council members asked staff to track savings and to show expected vs. actual costs on the new CIP dashboard. The strategic water improvement planning committee’s recommendations and recent EDC contributions were cited as background for the timing of the reallocations.
